Vegetables…

Open Woods is a certified-organic vegetable farm on the side of a hill in the middle of a forest in Grafton, NH specializing in high-quality long-lasting salad greens, summer high tunnel crops, winter growing, and picking rocks.

…and Tree Work

The other half of Open Woods is a general tree service. Angus has a passion for removing trees in challenging situations and loves winter tree jobs involving frozen lakes and ponds.

Sayer Palmer of Open Woods Farm and Tree Work

Sayer Palmer

Sayer is the farmer. She grows the vegetables and plays with complicated spreadsheets. Her passion project is community composting. She likes sitting in the April sun, the smell of cedar, and weird pizzas with banana peppers or pineapple.

Angus Gorman of Open Woods Farm and Tree Work

Angus Gorman

Angus drops the trees. He owns miles of rope and spends a lot of time thinking about trail networks. His passion project is Isinglass Trails. He likes working on rigs, the color of black locust lumber, and plain old pepperoni pizza.

Annie Vale Gorman

Annie is our daughter. She's an artist, book reader, and chip eater in love with puzzles. She likes to help out by picking peas, packing orders, and moving small pieces of firewood. Her favorite color is purple. Annie is five.
